Kahala / Diamond Head
Situated on the other side of Diamond Head from Waikiki, Diamond Head/Kahala is Oahu’s answer to Beverly Hills. From Waikiki, it is mere 10 min. drive on a scenic Diamond Head Road which turns into Kahala Avenue. This prestigeous steet is lined with palm trees and impressive ocean-front estates on one side. It runs all the way to The Kahala Hotel, formerly known as Kahala Mandarin just beyond the famous Waialae Country Club, where Sony Open is held every year. An average price of homes on the mauka (mountain) side of Kahala Avenue is anywhere from $2M to $5M, with tear-downs under $2M and large, newly built constructions asking $4M and up.
