Ala Moana
Sandwiched between Waikiki on the east and downtown on the west is Ala Moana and Kakaako. It is predominently a high-rise community with convenience. The State Capitol, federal and City/County buildings, Iolani Palace and the Blaisdell Center are all here. With a number luxury condominiums being built adjacent to Ala Moana Shopping Center, this area is attracting many locals who are downsizing as well as people from the mainland and abroad in search of vacation homes. The Ward Shopping Center on the west side offers many speciality shops, restaurants and a movie theater, providing locals and visitors a vibrant night life.
